What is the difference between a crime scene technician and a crime scene investigator?

Crime Scene Investigator is usually considered to be a detective however most police are usually trained to handle crime scenes. Rarely will the Technician ever come out to the field they usually just analyze evidence in the lab. Nothing like you see on CSI or those shows.

A crime scene technician is the one who process the scene and a crime scene investigator is the one who looks for clues
