I have a friend getting married this Saturday (yes, in 2 days) and I am very pale! I would like to use a self tanning lotion or spray, but I don't want to turn out orange or blotchy. I have a few questions...what is the best brand to buy (a brand found at either Target, Wal-Mart, or H-E-B would be great)? How do you apply it correctly, especially on your face without it looking blotchy! (Can you even apply it on your face?) And also, when it starts fading or peeling off or whatever, does it look horrible. I mean if I apply it to my face and it starts coming off in a week or so, how do you get it off of your face? Lastly, my last option is the spray on tan, not mystic tanning, but the airbrush tanning. Has anyone tried that? Sorry for all the questions, thanks for responses!

Okay first- try Jergens Natural Glow and don't but the face stuff (the body stuff works just fine) this can be found at walmart and target that I know of

There really isn't a wrong way to apply it. Just apply evenly (as possible) and don't get dressed for a few minutes so it can dry w/o getting on your clothes

Also, it just dyes your skin so put it on after you shower. If you don't want to not take a shower for 2 days, just put it on wait like an hour and put it on again and again once more. That should do it.

If you do fall for the airbrush tanning- lemon juice will get any streaks or mistakes off. (found at walmart!) also use a body scrub before you put it on for a even coat! if you or a friend subscribe to 17 magazine they have some awesome tips (its in an old issue)

Hope I helped!

I reccommend you go to a professional salon and have someone do it professionally. They exfoliate you and apply the tanner by hand on your body.
If you want to try one on your own, I recommend Fake Bake. It can be found online or at Sephora. com. EXFOLIATE first. After apply a little mositurizer. Wait about 15 minutes and apply the tanning lotion. This lotions goes on very dark, but dont be afraid to apply it, because when you wash it off you will have a beautiful bronze tan. I would do it the night 2 nights before your wedding day. The 2 nd day always looks just right and natural. Leave it on thru out the night, and dont worry it wont stain your clothing. Again, it goes on dark, dont be afraid to apply and blend it on your skin.
Good luck and congrats!

Hey--I promise/swear/assure you that "Vaseline Intensive Care Healthy Beauty Glow" is the ticket to ride!! I've purchased both the fair & medium lotion and have been extremely pleased with the results. Did I mention this product is a daily replenishing moisturizer w/ a touch of self tanner? It worked for me the first time I used it. It did not turn me orange or streak. I do use a loofa in the shower everyday and applied the lotion evenly, in moderation, and rubbed it in well. I had no problem with this product and the appearance of my clothes. I applied the lotion everywhere but my scalp and face. It also does not stink, did not interfere with my perfume (Very Sexy By Victoria's Secret), and did not bother me allergy-wise. (I'm allergic to everything but water & air!.........((and sex)) (grin)). So, now that I've sold you a 3-legged cow (just kidding), post your results if you happen to try it. Enjoy yourself at the wedding and Peace out!! "CaliModel" PS......It was the least expensive of all the self-tanners and self-tanning lotions that the Walmart closest to me carried at the time of purchase.

I have used every self tanner known to man, You will always get the same outcome, Splotchy skin and orangish tint. The one and only thing that works is the "Mystic Tan" its about $20 and its and even spray and washes off in about a week, At most tanning Salons.

it is particularly helpful to pass a tone darker, you could nicely be clearly too dark for it to truly coach. in simple terms don't get too orange. See I even have advantageous skin, yet i take advantage of the medium tone, somewhat of advantageous, and it shows up, yet there is often the possibility of finding pretend. Self tanners sell a organic glow no longer inevitably a tan tan u be attentive to? i think of a organic glow and in basic terms slightly shade is extra perfect, so now i take advantage of the only for advantageous skin and that i'm no longer likely dark yet i seem stable andhealthy

well, i use loreal... it works great. you will see results saturday for sure. my friend uses dove and that shows up the next day too. so both of those work for sure... those are the two im sure about... to put them on evenly is a tough job. haha... i always have trouble... i guess you just have to try. no tips on that. and on face, i didn't put the lotion on my face... but if i did, you
really have to make sure that its evenly. you don't want the tan marks all over.
good luck!

For awhile I was using a tanner from Victoria Secret but that was discontinued. (I still love their Bronzer!) But Mary Kay self tanner is great, But I learned to mix it with a lotion so its not so thick and doesn't streak. It works well.. I am not orange it looks very natural!

there is a fake tan called fake bake that works well and goes on even. you cannot get it at wal-mart or any place like that it comes form beauty hair supply stores but not sallys. ask you hairstylist to order it for you would probably be the best.

Dove works the best long term
but Jergins is the best for results in 1-2 days (just make sure you spread evenly

Spray on tan is good. Though it is sticky, cost more then a self tanner and wears away in about a week. Neutrogean self tanner works really wells but smells musky. Oh yeah and you should shower before you put it on.
