My whole life as an anglophone, I have been brought up to hate Quebec. As an adult, I have been thinking that Quebec has the right idea. They are standing up for what they believe in and making it clear to immigrants that they won't change their laws to accomidate them. If more crying immigrants move here to Ontario and change everything and make it as bad as their countries (if their countries were as good as ours, wouldn't they stay there? They like our country because of what we have, but by changing things, they are just making it like their own countries, which apparently didn't work because they would still be there.) If Quebec keeps standing up to immigrants, I will be packing up my stuff and moving there, along with anybody else who wants to keep our country Canada.

I am Canadian and english speaking. I was never raised to hate Quebec. I was raised to see than as part of my country as every other province. I have visited the province and I have friends there.

They are proud of their heritage and are standing up for it, that is fine.

I live in Ontario. I like that we accept cultures from all over the world. I agree that people must accept our laws and customs when they arrive here but I don't mind making accommodations for them as well. (when it doesn't interfere with my rights)

We just need to live together. There is a lot of stuff to learn from one another and a lot of stuff we can share.

By the way, leaving the province isn't going to solve anything.
