The appendix, for instance. We have no use for it. How is that 'intelligent design'?

Yes, there's also the tailbone, wisdom teeth, etc. are also vestigial body parts (body parts having no use). And also, James777, I know what these body parts are used for. But them not having use proves evolution (tail bone--we used to have tails, wisdom teeth--we used to have larger mouths), and thus, proves my point.

James, I was responding to the "I dont pretend to know what he appendix was used for...but I have no doubt that it did have a purpose. Perhaps to aid in the digestion of undercooked meat? I dunno. But to deny intelligent design based on not knowing what a specific body part was used for seems a little odd." part of your statement. I was saying I know what they were used for PREVIOUSLY. And that I know they have no use now.

Hhmm. The mighty appendix... is it powerful enough to bring an end to the Fairy Tales?

I love all the vague medical descriptions of it's possible function. Nearly all of the websites I've been to (that try to explain that the appendix is actually necessary) contain the same information. It has a "rich blood supply", and "is involved in the control of which essential bacteria come to reside...etc", also that it "produces significant volumes of dark-grey gooey stuff"... okay, I made that last one up.

But, it seems that there is only one source of information for all these websites. Not exactly exhaustive research.

I dont pretend to know what he appendix was used for...but I have no doubt that it did have a purpose. Perhaps to aid in the digestion of undercooked meat? I dunno. But to deny intelligent design based on not knowing what a specific body part was used for seems a little odd. Let me ask you this question in return...How do you explain all the others parts in the human body that do serve a purpose and so seamlessly work hand in hand? Pure chance i suppose.
but, come to think of it...I can remove one of my fingers and still have a functional hand...does that make one of my fingers of no use?

James777, I know what these body parts are used for. But them not having use proves evolution (tail bone--we used to have tails, wisdom teeth--we used to have larger mouths), and thus, proves my point.

You know what they ARE used for, and in the next line say that they have no use. intersesting. Then please..enlighten me on how life got started...and dont use a cop out answer like evolution. walk me through how u think life got started.

And why carry out a little people could shave their backs a week and others never do? Why are some people designed extra like bushy gorilla's and others are designed extra like a dolphin? Please...the place is the intelligence? stable element!

Yep, and what about those pesky wisdom teeth. When our jaws were used to literally tear meat off raw bones, our jaws were stimulated to actually grow and become larger and we had the room for the extra teeth.

Don't need them now that we use tools so well. Times they are a changing.

True. Or how about the coccyx (tailbone) whose sole remaining function is to hurt when you fall on it?

think logically. if it had NO use, would there be a problem when it bursts? it has a use, just not an obvious one. But I bet if you were born without one, there'd be a problem, no?
