I'm way too stupid to be a Mensa member & just wonder what's the point of being so smart to help other smartasses instead of helping the less intelligent? It seems logical that MENSA would have a couple hunerd websites to perpetuate assistance to non-members to make a better society & increase their numbers.
There can't be much use for intelligence, huh?!
Can somebody let me know?! Tanx!

Opps...sorry to ruffle any feathers. I appreciate your answer & am merely bewildered that a 'social club' of such high intellect fails to recognise a social conscience or obligation. To me it seems oxymoronic but I AM 'aware', not confused, & justa smartass looking for some smarts! 8-[

It's just a club like the old men who get together at the community centre every week to play cards. Neither of those clubs are responsible for correcting society's problems. They just formed the club because they wanted to not because it's supossed to have some great social significance. They have jobs that they use their intelligence for. It's not like MENSA is their only reason for existence.

P.S. You should look up oxymoron in the dictionary. You're not using it properly at all.

They're no good unless you speak Spanish, in which case, the name at least makes you laugh...

The adjective "mensa" (female) or "menso" (male) basically means "brainless" or "really, really stupid" in Spanish! :-) Oh, the irony!
