i've had this problem way too many times... no need to go to hospital. the best remedy (as advised by my chiropractor) is a moist heat. you take two towels. wet one towel and wring the water out but not completely. microwave it for like 5 minutes and wrap the dry towel with it. place it on the affected area for 15-20 minutes. just keep repeating it until you start to feel better. maybe once every 2 hours or so.
you can also opt for a massage or try rubbing some "white tiger" on the area before bedtime. also, be more conscious about your level of relaxation before you sleep. it helps if you consciously relax your shoulder and neck muscles right before you go to sleep.
good luck. hope this works for you.i feel your pain...

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas (natural muscle relaxers) daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, (if this does not do it you probably need a chiropractor as well) you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).
For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

Try This get a towel that will fit over a small pillow, place the towel in th microwave 1 minute if not, 1&1/2 minute, wrap the towel around a pillow that will fit your whole neck. Then go lay
down on the couch, relax there till towel is cool, & repeat is necessary. Just please don't burn the towel! It's heat you need. Or if you have a heating pad crank it up.
I hope one of these works for you I get neck pain too, I know what you're going through!

The pharmacy has some over-the-counter rub on creams that might help. I have found Aspercream works well. Just a thought. Don't think a hospital is necessary.

First, I have not any theory what the few at here is speaking approximately being in minimum earnings with a tattoo on the back of your neck. they're making harsh assumptions on regardless of they recognize little approximately. Having your tattoo on the back of your neck is dramatically better discreet than persons anticipate that is, in specific in case you're able to disguise it with having your long hair down (assuming you have gotten long hair) whether whether you do no longer, persons are hardly ever if ever staring at the back of your neck. I genuinely have one, and it particularly is extraordinarily lots under no circumstances been observed by technique of technique of somebody. So i will confess that i'm variety of offended by technique of technique of the derogatory comments persons are making approximately it? 2nd, that is not that painful in any appreciate. It was better painful than the tattoo that i offered on my hip bone, nonetheless it was needless to say tolerable discomfort. I guess i might say a three/4 out of 10, whether a "illness scale" is unquestionably very subjective to each individual. in case you want it, then you definately might desire to get it. end of tale. you will no longer enable the difficulty of illness stop you from getting your tattoo precisely in which you want it on your physique. sturdy sturdy fortune.

This is fairly common, but if the pain continues, or you feel numbness in your fingers or hands, you need to see a Dr.
