i am making challa a bread and i dont have any butter what is a quick substitution used with margarine?

just use the margarine

You cant make butter. Just use the margarine

For 1 cup of "butter" you can use 1 cup shortening plus 1/4 tsp.salt ,if desired! I looked it up for you. But i don't see why you could't use "margarine"

Melt the margarine and let it separate get the stuff of of the top and leave the water at the bottom do this until you have enough for your bread

I think you can just use the margarine, It should turn out ok.
