No, must have been that rat posion you put in your attic. Its a bad omen to leave a dead bird on your porch and get on the internet and ask if the dead bird on your porch is a bad omen while the dead bird sticks up the entry way to your house.

You sound as if you are doomed. The only way to remove the doom from your house and everyone who was in it when the bird died is to present the bird as a sacrifice next Sunday at church. Ideally you should walk up the central aisle during the presentation of gifts and lay it on the altar. If your priest/pastor does not understand, just put it in the offering plate.

Do you have a cat? Cats like to bring little gifts to their owners including birds, salamanders, mice, etc. Or, maybe a neighborhood cat likes you and decided to leave you a gift. It is NOT a bad omen. On the contrary somebody likes you!

No more than finding out that there is some frosting missing on your PopTart. Relax. Superstition gets in the way of a good life. Ignore superstitions and they go away. Take care, and be nice...bury the little bird.

Only if it died of avian flu.

As a piece of advice, don't be superstitious. Most of the silly "omens" and whatnot are just that: silly. It's a means of keeping you scared and away from the Truth.

It's a distraction. Keep your eyes on God.

no, it means that you have a bird on your steps that is no longer alive. a cat may have dropped it there, or maybe it flew into a window and landed there, dead.

that's ALL it means.

ignore the resulting cult/superstitious nonsense that is sure to appear in some of these answers.

I´ve seen if before: the bird, on attempting an aerial maneuver known as "looping", lost speed and lift and stalled to the ground.

Life is a cycle and things change from form to form and the
universe unfolds just as it is supposed to. Just wonder where that bird is now and what glorious thing it might be doing.
