If you burn something to a DVDrw can you watch it on a DVD player then erase it and do it again?

Yes you can. I have a DVD recorder and I use it like a VCR. I can record shows on it, watch them and then erase it and record over it. However, a lot of DVD players will not play DVD RW's so you need to be aware of that limitation.
