I have never seen any other bakery, grocery or otherwise, that uses frosting on cheesecake. Or chocolate icing and their regular supersweet white icing together on carrot cake instead of traditional cream cheese. I've met a ton of people who all agree their bakery is not all it's cracked up to be due to taste and texture, compared to other places so how are they able to get as much repeat business as they do? Are people really that oblivious to what they're eating?

This is at more than one location that I've seen this.

Safeway's bakery is one of the best. They make the majority of their products from scratch unlike many other grocery bakeries. I worked for safeway for 14 years. I have a feeling that the Safeway you shop at may be doing their own thing. They have very strict schematics and recipes they must follow. Your Safeway doesn't seem to be following protocol. Talk to the store manager or bakery manager. They would probably appreciate your input

I go to Safeway all the time and I've never seen a cheesecake with frosting on it or had carrot cake with regular frosting. I agree with the other person - your Safeway must be doing something a lot different.
