By your username I assume you play volleyball.
Is this where you see him? If so, talk about volleyball. If you see him at work, talk about work, etc.
talk to him about whatever you know the 2 of you have in common and let it flow from there.
If he has been flirting, then he is interested and any talk with you would be fine to him.

or better yet. Just wink you eye at him and smile and woalk away that always work.
