Some people can't handle the truth...too bad for them!

Well if you do it all the ******* time then yes I would be upset!
God I had a friend like that..EVERYTHING was wrong!

scenerio:

Me: Those people were nice
Upfront: No, actually they were stupid one spent $70 at the bar

Me: Aren't you going to recycle that?
Upfront: You are so rude, you said that in the wrong tone, of course I will

Me: I love my boyfriend he's cute
Upfront: I think he's ugly but then again so are all the guys that like you

there is a fine line between saying the truth, and being a total ******* asshole that has to be dominating and have a comment that makes them feel righteuos and you like a shitty idiot everytime.

It is often the tone that you use that is offensive. Try
asking the person why they feel the way they do first. You
might get a different perspective of their opinion.
It may be based on their personal experiences or
ingrained in them from their parents. After they have
explained why they think the way they do, gently ask if
they have ever considered another way of approaching
their life's decisions or choices and then share with
them your thoughts without judging theirs. This works.
The many shades of grey between black and white
are variable and you might find a comfortable middle
ground there.

No. Being honest and open is great, but if you're telling someone they're wrong, first make sure it's true and that they're not actually right. Then, if they are wrong, try to break it to them gently, instead of saying it right out. I mean, no one likes to hear they're wrong, right? So try to tell them politely. Hope this helps!

No one ever likes to hear that they are wrong....it's great tht you are very up front and honest...however there are different ways you can tell the truth. Also...just because you can say something...doesn't mean you have to.

It really depends on how often you tell them they are wrong. Someone who is always critical can get very annoying. If you cannot find something positive to say to them then are they really worth having as a friend?

Nah, you're their friend, not their toady. You should say that they're wrong if you think they are. But you are also their friend, and you should do so in a way so they don't get hurt. If you're hurting them by telling them the truth, maybe you need to rephrase the way you point out their errors to them.

No, it isn't wrong...but sometimes it depends on how you PRESENT your opinion. Telling the truth is never wrong, but speak the truth in love...otherwise, you may find yourself with not very many friends.

I think it's great that you've chosen a career in pointing out the mistakes of others.

Good for you!
