I don't know if you would call it anorexic... I'd just call it not eating... but my "friend" told me I was fat today... and I believe her. I'm 5'2 and 94lbs... I don't know what it is... I can't control it... this... feeling... but it really hurt me when she called me fat... especially since i'm trying to loose weight.. So, I've been crying a lot... and I'm not sure what to do...

Calm Down! You have nothing to worry about, 94 lbs is nowhere near fat at your height. You put the word "Friend" in quotation marks which leads me to believe that she's not really your friend. More importantly, a true friend would not tell someone who is already insecure about her weight that she is fat. If you really want to be healthy, you should try to establish healthier eating habits because what you're doing is creating the foundation for a life time of misery. Don't do it to yourself, it's just not smart. You should try meeting new friends who are good for your self esteem, and maybe join some fun aerobic classes. Exercise always makes me feel better about myself :)

I was once anorexic. It runs in my family. First of all, if you have any pre-disposition of this disease in your family, go to the doctor for sure. If you weigh 94 lbs, you are not fat in any way. You need to be happy with your body type. Don't try to lose weight, do toning exercises instead. If you go on a diet and don't eat anything for over 3 days your metabolism will slow down. This is because your body is trying not to lose the weight because you do need a certain amount of fat to survive as well as to function properly. Your body is basically trying to conserve energy. It is true that you will however lose weight, but theres a catch. When you fast and then suddenly start eating again, you are going to gain weight quicker than ever. This is due to the fact that your metabolism has slowed down and can no longer process the carb, sugar, and fat intake. It therefore, all becomes useless fat. Don't just stop eating. If you feel bad about your body, eat smaller portions, but more times a day. You will still lose weight this way, just be healthier while you do it. As for the anorexia thing, its a serious disease that is potentially life threatening. You will literally waste away, and it is long and painful death. Go see both a general practitioner as well as a therapist. They will help you get through this before it gets too bad. And about your so called friend, ignore her, its not worth getting upset over. Trust me. Good luck with everything.

I have calculated your BMI (Body Mass Index) and it is 17.2 which is 0.8 points below the underweight mark so i'm guessing you're already pretty tiny as it is, so my advice would be:
1.) To ignore any further nasty comments from your 'friend' or anyone for that matter
2.) Eat sensibly, i.e your 5 portions of fruit/veggies per day and consume foods from the other groups in moderation
3.) Get out and work it =] You will feel better you've been exercising and it gives you chance to clear your head and rise above anyone else's franky ridiculous 'observations'

Life's too short to worry about things that aren't actually a problem. Join a class, make some new friends and spend your time having fun with people who you actually have something in common with.

All the best
Niki x

First of all, a "friend" would not call another friend "fat". A friend wouldn't lie to you, because you are NOT fat at all hun. Infact, you are most certainly underweight according to your BMI. Fasting is deffinatly not the way to go, it could harm your body in so many ways I cant even begin to explain. Seriously, it could cause major bad factors in the long run. Fasting slows down your metabolism. I know you've probably heard all of this "blah blah blah" before, but honestly the best way is to just eat and exercise in a healthy manner. All of this negative thoughts put on by the media these days is very crucial, don't listen to it! You're fine the way you are, trust me.

I know, it could be very emotional. Just talk to someone you're really close to..try to make yourself happy. Don't be around such negative people .. because in reality people tend to put others down just to feel good about themselves, and if they see that you are really effected by it, then it only makes them feel better and they'll keep on doing it.

Screw what everyone has to say, you're fine. I really hope this works out for you, I really do.

Honey, trust me you aren't fat. I don't know why your friend said what she did, doesn't sound like much of a friend to me.

You shouldn't be losing any weight, because you are now a bit underweight. Maybe if you can talk to someone about this because you can't carry on not eating anything, you will make yourself very ill indeed. You'll end up with all kinds of problems and you will become even more depressed. I've been there and it's just not worth it. I hope you get some help and start feeling better real soon.

Take care : )

so here's how i see this situation. 1. you are anorexic, i think we all know that by now. and, that said, you've got three options ahead of you. you can either
a) continue to not eat and eventually die
b) continue to not eat, slowing down your metabolism so drastically that when you decide you don't want to die and start eating like a normal huma being again you'll actually gain more weight then if you just stuck with a normal diet
c) realize that you're a nice, not at all overweight girl and be happy about yourself. Make peace with food, its really not all that bad, and believe me, the earlier you do this the better. The longer you wait, the less options you will have, and if I were you, I'd want to choose option c. but maybe thats jsut me.

PEACE

omg honey you need help - seek a professional as quickly as you can. My sister does that too - just not eat for a while - and I can see the effects it has on her. She has zero energy. You're body needs food to survive and you're worth it. More than likely the weight you've lost will come right back. There are healthier ways to maintain a happy body weight...feed your mind first.

Ok. You need to go to the kitchen right NOW and eat. You can really hurt yourself you could even kill yourself with what you are doing! 96 lbs is NOT fat! Your friend probably told you that becasue she is jelous of you and she is not a true friend at ALL! I am serious you need to eat and if you can't you need to see a doctor right away!

Oh my dear girl. At 94 lbs you are anything but fat!! You need to get counseling (I know, don't roll your eyes at me!). You are starving yourself. Your body will shut down and will stop functioning properly. Your hair will fall out. And that "friend" is no friend to you. Go to a doctor or nutritionist if you are that concerned. All you need is a really good meal plan and regular excercise. And stay AWAY from people who would bring you down or criticize you. Life is too precious to waste away. Good luck my dear.

108-121 - small frame
