Can you buy a mouth splint at Albertsons, Rite Aid, or Walgreens? (for TMJ)?

Question

I seem to clench my teeth and grind my teeth while sleeping at night. Do you know if there's a temporary Splint you could get at a general store to control this until I get to a dentist?

I wanted to stay away from the "bite" guards. they are so huge in my mouth for me to sleep with!

try a sporting goods store for a bite guard.

The only ones your going to find, are the mouth guards that are big and cumbersome to wear. Your best bet is to see your dentist and have one designed to fit "only your teeth," which are very comfortable to sleep in and help tremendously with TMJ, grinding and clenching problems. I sometime wear mine during the day as well when I find myself clenching. Hope I was of some help and good luck!

7 years ago I've been involved in a car wreck and even since suffered with severe on and off facial and jaw pain. I've tried almost everything western medicine had to offer and had visited countless of specialist, had done ct scans, and therapies but to no avail. The doctors I have been to had persisted that there wasn't anything wrong with me and that almost drove me crazy as I was going through hell from this condition. You can probably find one at a drug store or Wal-Mart type
store, but you might have better luck and a better selection
at a sporting-goods store.
