If a beer company came out with a beer that tasted like Coke would you try it?

Well.... I really don't like regular Coke, but I like Diet Coke. Maybe if they came up with something like that (it would be like Light Beer!) I would certainly try it.

Besides, isn't beer an acquired taste anyway? You could do a lot of things to make it taste better. But beer is my drink of choice (true Texan here).

Ew, no. If I wanted to drink something alcoholic that tasted like coke, I'd have a rum and coke. What would be the point of a coke-flavored beer?

I truly prefer to have my beer taste like beer, and a Coke like a Coke. My major concern would be appealing to a market that shouldn't be: underage kids who like Coke. That would really be playing with fire.

It has been done, during the malternatives phase a few years back.
It failed miserably.
There is always that funky taste with malt based beverages, some flavors i.e. citrus go well with it and many do not.
This stuff, I don't recall the name, fell into the later category. Jack Daniels tried it with "hard cola" which was supposed to taste like jack and coke but contained no whisky. All JD RTD's have gone to malt based due to licensing and taxing.

gotta admit, I would - but i could just imagine all the unfortuante things like alcohol poisoning incidents rising as well as deaths with an alcoholic drink that tastes like coke

Yes, why not? if I like it I keep buying it. If I don't then I won't. It would be a challenge don't u think? Interesting question hmm

wouldn't give it the time of day. now if it tasted like pepsi, I would buy stock in it.
