True. That's one of th HUGE indicators of global warming- the ice ages go in cycles and were were supposed to be going into one right about now. However, we are instead heating up.

Global Warming sent us into a period with abnormal heat instead of the natural ice age. At this point, don't expect snow.

edit: Dana, they are. we have data going back over 300 million years, and they are in an almost perfect cycle.

I believe this to be false. Geology does not have a good reason why Pleistocene glaciation occurred, so they cannot predict the onset of another cycle. Also, the glacial interstage periods were much longer than 11,000 years, which is when the final stage of glaciation occurred.

True, but our understanding of global weather patterns is in it's infancy. We could be due for a massive global warming or an ice age. Who knows??

For those who fail to comprehend that "Global Warming" is a poor description, what we are probably going through is a disruption of "natural" climate swings. An ice-age is probably (strike that, definitely) going to happen sooner or later. But first we are likely to experience a series of unusually hot summers and unusually cold winters...

well you see, an ice age occurs every 200 years and the last ice age ended in 1937 at 2:30 pm. since it is currently 2007 we still have plenty of time before we are all frozen for about 25 years and thawed out to continue with our daily lives.

True. Ice ages aren't cyclical, so there is no way to tell for sure.
