When I was about 15 my mother went for me in a big way....I wasn't brought up with my mother....& in retaliation, yes! I'm ashamed to say I did hit her....after that we had a few fights, but only when she went for me first....I never hit her first......I'm not saying it was the right thing for me to do & remember I wasn't brought up with my mother....but hell, she would go at me like a bloody alley cat.....so yes, I did hit back....by the age of 19 I realised this was just so wrong so swore to myself the next time she went for me I wouldn't retaliate....she did go for me again when I was nearly 20 & 8 months pregnant....I refused to hit her back & that was the last time we ever fought....mind you I don't have anything to do with her now......she just happened to be the woman that gave birth to me.......

Hon, if you did, and are able to go online to ask about it, you are very lucky.

There is NO WAY a child of mine, not even the adult ones would get away with a stunt like that. And they never tried, either. And my children are bigger and most are taller than I am. They didn't hit when they were toddlers or preschoolers either.

But it's not a matter of size. It's a matter of respect. And the degree of love you truly have for your mom.

Obviously your mother loves you very much.

Since you are asking people your age I will tell you that most of the people here have the right idea.

You should apologize quickly, and make up for it by being the best child in the world for awhile.

By the way, you should probably work on not ever letting whatever made you hit your mom cause you to do that again.

Yes I have...I was twelve years old, and at that point in my life my mother got up off the floor thinking to herself..." I think the boy is a little to big to be spanking any more.....I'll just leave this to his father from now on..." The honest truth my friend, dad took care of everything from then on. Unlike my mother though, he never did hit me; never.

I am embarrass to say yes i was about 13 - 14 years old and she hit me real bad in my mouth at the time i had braces and she pop my lips and i got so mad that i sacked her twice hey she hit for no reason just because i forgot to take the trash out, but later on i did apologized

I would like to help you, but I'm not sure what kind of situation you're in. Did your mom hit you? Did you just get mad and hit her? If you have an anger problem, I suggest getting help before you really hurt someone.

Assuming your mom's not violent - apologize to her and talk to her about what happened. If you feel like you need help - ask her to help you get it.

Yes, when I was a kid. She was hitting me and I hit her back she looked like she couldn't believe someone that she had hit and thereby taught to use violence would hit her back. The situation is different for you being a girl though.

if this is a situation you have got yourself in then my advice to you would be to apologise and try to talk about why this happened. if you can both understand then hopefully you can prevent it happening again. if you cant talk without it blowing up into another row, then please get some help.

i had a friends daughter breaking her heart to me about how she got so wound up that she wanted to hit her mum. she was devastated by the thoughts in her head. after listening to her and her mother i was able to help calm the situation. they were both really angry and pre menstrual and something small had blown up out of all proportion. hopefully you have someone to help you

I was born in the late 50's and bought up very strictly, if i would have hit my mother...even talked out of turn to her, i WOULD have been beaten senseless by my dad-(no "child abuse" business in them day's--families sorted their own problems out!)-suggest you go make your peace with your mum, she is the only one you have...DON'T forget--mothering sunday is just around the corner!

once. i took a swing at her. she was being so mean, it was like she had a right to be mad, but she was treating me like an enemy, like if we were the same age and rivals. she was really pushing the button and hitting me over and over again and just snapped. but right after she kept hitting me, it was pretty bad. me and my mom have never had a good relationship so she just kept bitching about the whole thing after it happened (my mom never forgets anything that i do) and me, i just did my best to move on. however we did still keep fighting after that. but if you and your mom arent at all like this, just go ahead and apologize. and i hope that things ease up between you.
