I started seriously dating when I was 13. I had a very matured mind for a 13 year old, but still, that relationship was a distraction for me. I KNOW I would have done better in school had I not been in a relationship. You've got to be careful. Its still your choice. If you have a cool Mom. Talk it out with her. You may be able to handle it. Or see if he shows interest in encouraging your school work / studies. How old is he? That's another factor. The pressure to date may come from friends, don't do it if that's the reason. Date when you're fully comfortable with the idea. Just be friends for a while maybe and test it out. Hangin with the understanding of "just friends" could give you some more time to evaluate him to see if he's someone worth your while. All the best.

13 is NOT too young to be dating. The only people that say that are people who don't know how to teach kids about life. But what is dating at 13 anyway? It's holding hands, kissing, going to the movies together, sharing thoughts and ideas, going roller skating, out to eat. Stuff like that! It's certainly way to young for sex. That I will say but dating? NO! Not at all! See. some people, when they think of "dating" they think of sex. They can't seem to tell the difference because so many people are such horndogs these days. If you want to only date him, then only date him but if you don't want to, then don't! Tell him your not ready for a commitment at your age. In any case, a 13 yr or anyone under the age 18 should never be having sex! EVER!

As long as you guys don't go to any drive-ins for a while I think you will be alright. Study really isn't that big of a deal but when he asks you to go to the movies with him... then thats a big deal. Your taking a step in your relationship then cause we all know what happens at the movies. Also make sure he's not a player before you go out with him, unless you like that. Hope I helped.... PEACE!
