What are you interested in? What are your colors? date of wedding? is it a formal or casual wedding? evening or day? We gotta have more details.

I can send you pictures of mine. I did a tropical theme, which had glads as my flowers. It was beautiful.

I know you subscibed to Modern Brides. Soon (probably May or June) they will do an entire issue on flowers.

Budget is important for the cake.

You can save money by buying a cake stand like this

Or you can go for more of freestanding cakes like this:

something more traditional:

or consider interesting shapes:

as for flowers--I am not a big flower person. I don't know that much about them and I don't have any personal attachment. I did that last and took him pictures of my cake, my bridesmaid dresses, the colors that I was using for the buffet tables, napkins, etc. Then I got some ideas from him as far as what to do and the idea he came up with for my alter arrangment I could NOT have specified. I needed his expertise to come up with something that gorgeous! and flowers really depends on your budget. If you find a picture of something, those flowers might be out of a million dollar wedding and have been carefully flown in from Timbuktu.

But I'd go to those sites and go to yahoo, click on images and just type in wedding cake or wedding bouquet. Hundreds of pictures come up and they will give you some ideas.

Hope this helps. Congrats!

www.weddingchannel.com
is an American site with lots of pictures. Click on the top tap, the second link from the left, on "Ideas and Advice", scroll down and look for flowers, or decor. They really have lots of pictures of stunning wedding flowers and cakes. There are also numerous articles on how to do it yourself, how to plan, choose a florist and bakers and so on.

alternatives to flowers for yourself & attendants could be - opened fans; a small beaded hand bag; just foliage even ( I have heard about this being done in a remote area where flowers weren't reaedily available). if a church wedding a small family bible with a hanky from grandmother/favourite relative for you

look through ALL SORTS of magazines to get some ideas - your local library may even have some bridal magazines that you could borrow

if you have doubts about your flowers go for less rather than more - as in just a single stem - rose ; lily; gladiola; tulip- with maybe some fern & a ribbon

The shops should have pictures of previous wedding they have done. Usually there's so many it's easy to find one you like.

Some of the best places to look are www.theknot.com (they have over 250 bridal bouquets from real brides who have submitted their photos) and www.weddingchannel.com (lots and lots of cake ideas). Both sites feature photos and ideas for cakes & flowers!

What you definitely should know is what colors you want to help you narrow down flowers.

Good luck!

I suggest visiting weddinglenox.com and post your request. Their matching system http://www.weddinglenox.com/membersignup1.php will match you up with local vendors with pricing you specified. I tried it and have good result as I only recieved response from vendors according to my request.

One problem I had with my wedding is that it is hard to locate vendors in most website as most likely they group by states and there are too many of them that's too far from me and I have to look at each site to figure out.

The sites I provide above have a easy to use layout to show you pictures, pricing and location in one page plus, you can send out your inquiry for matching vendor to contact you. That save me lots of time to locate the best vendors with the right price.

The wedding cake can have a big blown up picture of your head and your flowers should be purple, cause I like purple.

One more thing... isn't this question a little weird for yahoo answers? I mean, you and your family and your soon-to-be-husband should decide these things, not random people off the internet. No offense or anything.

This is the store I ordered my cake from. Any bakery should be able to mimick the designs. You can just look through the pictures....
