How Does Evolution Save Lives?

Question

I posted a question earlier about how Darwin theories prove false and his own words confirm this. Additionally the question explained how the Holocaust was based around natural selelction. I recieved a bunch of closeminded repsones. I mean no disrespect when saying that but if people are atheists do to facts & science how can you possibly be telling me things such as Judaism, Christianity & Islam promote violence. I am a Muslim I can sat that those kind of statements obsurd.

Again evolution ultimately supports genocide directy and indirectly. Where is the proof of evolution, there is none only proof of creationism. As sicence minded people you should be able to prove or disprove any of this.

Evolution is only a theory and discredits God's Creation. Therefore, it cannot 'save' you. The only way to be saved from anything, eternally speaking, is to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. This way and no other, is the way to be saved.

if you really want to know about evolutionary theories you should study science, you're unlikely to find the answers you seek here. Look at more then one source, compare, and form your own educated opinion. I think parts of the old testament can be interpeted as promoting violance against non believers, I've read that some in Islam believe all infidels should be destoyed, it's Allahs will, thats not peaceful. Religion can be used to promote peace or war. Evolution I am sure has errors, it's mans attempts to understand where he came from. Many skeletal remains have been found that show we have increased in size, height, body structure, and brain mass over time. This is evolution, and perhaps Gods plan. To create something that could change and adapt to the changing enviroment , it increases survival, and allows life to continue. That would be a greater creation. I can't prove any religion, or faith, is completely right, or wrong, or that evolution actually happened. I just know that I exist, at least I do for now, I don't want to harm anyone, take what is there's, or force them to feel or believe as I do. I just want to live my life, befriend others, love my family, and never be starving, homeless, or a victem of someone elses hate. That will mean I've had a good life. Hitler might have thought it was his job to select who should live or die, but there was nothing natural about it. May we never see anyone like him again.

There is no definitive proof of EITHER theory and there probably won't be in our lifetime.

So this is a futile argument.

PS: Evolution & Natural Selection do not support genocide, they are just theories on how species change over generations.

You are asking us to look at your website with an open mind? How about reading something like The God Delusion or Origin of Species with an open mind?

If you think religion and violence are unrelated you are too uninformed or too insistent on ignoring history to have an intelligent conversation on the topic. You could simply learn basic geology and paleontology and your ignorance on evolution would be resolved with fact as opposed to the mere assertions of your superstition. On the other hand, one would hardly expect a religion that believes angels reveal the words of gods in caves to produce anyone capable of critical thinking.

But I will waste one answer on you.

Because I am an atheist and know that to kill another human being is to take everything from them for all time, and because I do not wish anyone to do this to me, I am less likely to be a murderer than someone whose religion rewards murderers with paradise. The prisons are full of theists. And though an atheist and unrelated to any Jews, I am a long time supporter of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., a genocide many Moslems deny occurred, because I believe we must learn from the errors of the past to prevent their repetition.

Belief in God did not stop the Sunni murderers who bombed and killed hundreds of other Moslem pilgrims yesterday, did it? I don't even know why Americans worry. If they'd just get out of the way Moslems would all likely murder each other and no longer be a threat to anyone, and then Peace Be Upon us all.

I don't just blame Islam its just the religion acting up right at the moment. Throughout history all religion has caused war and destruction. As far as evolution is concerned to many facts have been brought forward in favor of it to keep on harping on it and trying to prove it false. I have never seen another scientific theory with so many attempts to prove it false yet still it stands strong in the face of it. There has never been anything like it since Christians wanted a square Earth.

1) Evolutionary theory was twisted and distorted to form eugenics. Evolution does not 'support' any political or social principle; it is science, and it is proven fact.

2) There is no evidence which contradicts evolutionary theory or supports creationism over evolution. There is plenty of evidence disproving creationism.

3) Missiles and bombs work because of gravity, and gravity is used to make them more accurate. They kill thousands of people. Does this make gravity evil? No. It is an impersonal force. Evolution is the same. Yes, people have tried to justify genocide with evolution. This has no effect on the veracity and morality of evolution. It is a natural process.

4) Judaism, Islam and Christianity do promote violence, because they divide people into 'us' and 'them'. Violence always follows.

More wars and killing in the name of god have happened than any other reason. Do some research. A theory can't kill. A beleif can. Its morons that beleive in religion and kill in its name that have done a great injustice to this world. Keeping an open mind and trying to figure out our world around us saves lots of people. What do you do when you are in a traffic accident or shot. Do you call 911 and go to the hospital. If you are smart you do. God wont heal you. Pray all you want. You will die. Its science that will save you when you are injured or have a heart attack not allah. Get a grip. You hate science until you need it. Where would we be today without it.

In prehistoric times, there were human communities, and some humans were bullies and attacked the other humans, but the others got together and destroyed the trouble-maker (this behaviour has also been observed in ape communities). So, that human could not re-produce his bad kind. This is just how humans have become more sensible and less hostile over time. This is how evolution saves lives.

You are talking about Eugenics, not evolution. That is separate thing. Evolution says nothing about morality or how species should treat each other within itself.
