Why "Grand"?

The Jews didn't accept him because he did not fulfill the requirements for a messiah.

1. The Jewish leaders at the time checked Jesus against the prophecies, and found that he wasn't a good fit for the promised Messiah (or Moschiah, or however it's spelled). Jews today are waiting for someone named Emanual (also with various spelling) to sit down in Jerusalem and be the King of Israel -- here on Earth.

2. The Jewish leaders at the time did not like Jesus. Jesus wanted to eliminate corruption in the church. The leaders would have been out of a job.

Christ himself claimed to have come for the lost souls of Israel. He also said he did not come to abolish the law.(written by Moses, written in the book of Psalms, and the books fo the Prophets) but to fulfill them. And yet he immediately transgressed the Sabbath observations which according to the law is the great sign between God and Israel. Then out of the more than 620 Jewish laws exctracted from the Ten Commandments, he just made two greats that he claimed surpasses all the laws written. It may true but it is not what their Jewish traditions teaches. God says ther is only One God, no One before Him, no One besides Him and no One comes after Him. As a Jew,what would you feel when somebody tells you that when you see Him, you see the Father? It is true the Israel are stubborn in following the commands of God but it is also true that their stubborness will hold frimly to the laws written in their book.

The Jews don't believe that Christ was the Messiah, like the Christians do. They feel He didn't fulfill the prophetic requirements. Here are some of those requirements:

The Jews didn't receive Jesus as their Messiah because He told them they weren't following God in their hearts. He told the religious leaders they were hypocrites. Their pride would not let them come to him and repent and be saved. Then when they saw all of His miracles they got scared that the people would want to make Him their king and the country would fall totally to the Romans. It was all politics.

Because they were expecting somebody else (and I think they still are)

There was this joke (I really mean it as a funny thing, no harm intended) - a rabbi's son converted to Christianism. The rabbi goes to the temple and complains to God - "look what happened to me, my very own son turned into a Christian!" and God answers - "Tell ME about it!..."
