Yesterday was my 21st birthday and were going to the casino on Monday but my license technically expired today, do I need to get it renewed before I will get served? I'm in MN if that makes any difference.

No. It's identification. Some possibly could give you a hard time, if they think it has to be a valid license. But as long as it still looks like you it's fine.

Some places won't take an expired license. Some people don't even check the expiration date. When I was a bartender I would allow a couple of weeks on the expiration before I would turn it down. The easiest thing to do is to get it renewed before Monday.

From experience, most bars already know that your license will be expired and they know that you are coming in to celebrate and spend money. My 21st birthday was on a Saturday (DMV closed), and we went to 5 different bars and I actually got free drinks and stuff. Most bars are reasonable and understand that you can't renew your license right away. If you have any other ID (like military), just have that with you too...just in case. Happy birthday!

because of the fact as quickly as a license expires it is no longer legally valid as a sort of identity. you actual could have discovered that in the time of driving force's ed. Bars could be fined or maybe have their liquor licenses revoked for promoting to somebody who can no longer latest a valid identity with evidence of age. on account that an expired license isn't legally valid, maximum bars are not keen to take the possibility of accepting them as evidence of age. Their liquor license is so plenty extra significant to their agency than a single customer.

The restaurants/bars I worked at accepted expired licenses if they were only a week or two expired. You may want to call ahead to verify with a manager to prevent any disappointments. Make sure to write down or remember the name of the person you spoke to so that if there are any problems, you can say that so and so told you it was ok.

Get it renewed. While you might get serves, in most jursidictions the bar needs you to have a valid id and an expired DL isn't technically valid

If the bartender is a dick then no. But most dont care, but get it renewed soon anyway. I live in MN too, dont go to Mystic Lake (mistake lake as its called). Go to Hinkley, they have way better dealers and a better atmosphere.

It's going to depend on who serves you but I would say in 99% of the cases the bartender/waiter/waitress isn't going to care. If it proves your age then they're covered.

If they have a machine that they swipe your id through or if they catch in andthey follow the rules they won't serve you. You will need to renew it.

Its good until midnight by then you are at your destination. Good luck and call a cab if you had too many of those free drinks at the casino.
