Why do so many people complain about Windows OS's?

An OS is such a huge application, with millions of lines of code. And Windows works great enough for me and millions of others.

So why do so many people complain about: price, reboots, crashes etc. well what do you expect with so many lines of code? It's gonna happen. All you have to do simply is NOT use Windows, there are other OS choices available. But you will see problems or things you do NOT like with the other choices also.

If people think it's so easy to create an OS that is perfect, then why do you think there aren't too many other choices out there? , because it's extremely difficult to write one.

So why do so many people complain about Windows, when there isn't that much better out there?

There is though, and you've said it yourself. Other operating systems, such as OpenBSD, Solaris and Linux are also millions of lines of code - and yet they manage to be both secure and stable. Many people, however, don't realise they have a choice - they think "Windows" is the only thing you can have.

People complain about crashes, because it is absolutely unpleasant to be confronted to a crash.

People complain about the price, because Microsoft has an operating margin of 36.20%, which means they sell their software much more than what they cost to make. That's even more dramatic with Windows which represents 30% of Microsoft revenues for 60% of its benefits. It's a fact their software are overpriced.Such a financial situation would not be possible in a competitive environment.

No OS is perfect, but there are other choices around there (Mac OS, proprietary Unix like AIX, open source Unix like OpenSolaris, Linux, BSD, and specialized OS like IBM z/OS, Palm OS, Symbian).

Many people "simply do NOT use Windows"when they can, but sometimes they are just forced to, because their company has made this choice, or because the specific software they need only works on Windows. The fact Windows has more market share does not mean it is better.

People are so angry becuase you are spending over $100 for a piece of software that doesn't work half the time? I would be angry. Yes it is a lot of work to make an OS, but there are OSes that work! Linux Debain for example is considered the OS that does not crash. They take pride in creating an OS that actually works. Microsoft is just out there to make money. I'll never give them a cent, untill they have something that works great!

oh but there is better out there. mac's operating systems are less vulnerable. however, because windows has become such a staple - almost a monopoly, most people continue to use windows because they almost don't have a choice. when you go to work, you have a windows computer. not your choice. if you go to school, there are windows computers and you have to have windows at home as well to use the file you were working on in class. Apple is gaining popularity but mostly through ipods. I don't know if there will ever be a day when macs are in more househoulds then windows, but heres hoping!

There is: OS X, Linux, BSD, Solaris, and more than a few other options.

Many people hate windows operating system because they’re constantly nagged with viruses and spy-wares, and those dangerous program called “ Trojan horse.”

These people are aware of the viruses, everybody should know at age 4 that windows is vulnerable to viruses, but they keep downloading free software off the Internet anyway.

Do you people know what is a software? A software is like a rat poison or a fish bate, it can threaten your OS’s life. Do you think a software was made my itself? No, it was a man or woman who designed the software to be compatible with Windows. A person who design software also knows how to combine harmful codes with the software to harm people’s computer. Would you accept a free cup of water from someone you don’t know?

So these software seem to be very desirable, and people are so hungry for them. And guess what? They’re FREE software, so why not take your share? It’s like wanting to kill 500 rats in one day, so the person simple design a software for free so these people can take advantage of it. BAM! You are infected, your 10./000 songs are all corrupted, your 10.000 photos are all damaged. And your credit card information has been stolen.

Why don’t you people realize that FREE Anti virus software were designed by Human being? If FREE Anti virus software were as great as those subscribed ones, wouldn’t the companies that sell Anti Virus software go bankruptcy? Hence: It is FREE and is better than the subscribed ones. You people are so pathetic. NOTHING FREE IS GOOD, unless from a trusted source.

So, why blame Microsoft for your windows corruptions? Why don’t you all blame yourself for being stupid?

Because windows just sucks and it is obsolete. Linux and Mac are so much better. I also know that the guy above me is a retard.
