and i don't mean purple like oh its chill out they're a little discolored... i mean my nuckles go to a dark grape purple and my hands get purple and my veins get purple and it looks BAD. is it poor circulation? bc it doesn't happen to anyone else i know... what can cause pooor circulation? what should i do so that they don't turn purple in the cold... and i do wear gloves it doesn't help.

It might be what's called Raynaud's phenomenon. It's a rare condition that causes your hands (or sometimes feet) to turn purple as a reaction to cold or stress. A very small percentage of the population experiences this (3% or something like that). BUT don't assume that this is the case. A health professional is always the best place to go if you have a concern like this.

I think you have a harmless condition known as raynauds phenomenon. It is s quite common. Basically, the extremeties of your limbs are over sensitve to cold or stress & become deprived of oxygen due to vascular spasm of the extremeties. (Not heart or other vital organs)

I don't know but my toes do that till I take hot bath.About 20 minutes in the hot water they turn gray then normal pink a few minutes later.

i would see ur g.p but it does sound like a circulation problem,which can be hereadatry, i get something similer but my fingers go white and numb,i have been taking evening primrose capsules and i think it helps but u should get it checked out for peace of mind .

Exercise may help this. See your doctor to check whether or not you have Reynaud's syndrome.

see a dr! the only person i know who had that type of condition had lupus.
