Many people aren't aware that it wasn't even a physical exercise until MUCH later in history... such is life.

Maybe there is more to your point, but union doesn't mean god, especially in the Eastern context. For instance yin and yang are a symbol of "unity" in the Eastern tradition. Perhaps the "union" of yoga is mind-body, which is how many people understand Yoga today.

nevertheless- you'd still agree that the dramatic increase in popularity of Yoga is due to it's fitness aspects... even though all studies show that yoga does NOT have the same benefits as aerobic or strength training.

Union with false gods, demons who mislead. Yoga is often associated with inner peace, and people who practise yoga gain selfconscienceness. But this doesn't bring peace, but more conflicts, because everyone wants the best for theirselves. Very egoistic. It's satan's old lie: "you will be like God."

If you are looking for real peace, obey Jesus words and let Him reconcile you with others and with yourself. Jesus is the truth: "God will dwell in you!"

Whatever. I use it for physical reasons, and it's also a relaxing way to end a workout.

It is what you make of it.
