im wanting to paint the inside of my brick shed white so i cans et up a dark room, i have a huge unused tub of white emulsion, would that work on brick? i dont mind having to do a couple of layers but i dont want to start then realise it wont work and have to go out and buy more paint after wasting a big tub

yes it will work, it may require 3 coats, use a medium roller for effective and quick application.

If the shed is dry you should have no trouble, just make sure you remove any dirt & loose bits, sealing the walls with diluted PVA will help to stop the paint sinking in too much. If the shed it damp the paint will flake off sooner or later, but presumably if you are making a darkroom you can't risk damp anyway.

Yes just use a hard brush on the walls first to remove and dust,allow the dust to settle(have a cuppa) then paint to your hearts content,you may have to put on two coats as the brick may soak up some of it.

I used emulsion in my brick shed.
first I washed the walls down with sugar soap to get rid of dirt and flaky paint.
then I washed it down with clean water and then left it to dry.
I then gave it two coats of paint.
It still looks ok two years after - its all in the proper preperation this leads to a good finish

You should use masonary paint as indoor emulsion will bubble and flake off with the damp.

Emulsion will be fine as long as the room is not too damp.
