im getting a 1000 watt 12 i forgot the brand, what kind of power wud the amp need to sound good?

To give you a real accurate answer you will need to give more information on the subwoofers.

This is the info you NEED to include...
-Watts RMS of the sub (always ignore the MAX wattage it will only mislead you)
-How many voice coils the sub has
-What impedence (ohms) the voice coils are

Any body else who gives you a recommendation with the info you have given is most likely wrong because its impossible to give you a sure answer with the info given.

Just re-ask the question with that information and you'll find the answer your looking for

go to www.fry's.com and you will find a very cheap amp it's a crunch 1000 watts and it's only $90 bucks i have it my self for like 4 years and it is working like new believe me i won't change it for any good brand it sounds so good i have pluged it to a 1200 watts boss speaker and when i'm driving around my system turns on the car alarms it's very good

well is that 1000 watt rms or peak? if its rms then u want atleast a 1000 watt amp, if thats peak bring it down to about the middle of ur rms and peak.so if the rms is 500 watts, go with somethign about 700 watts.

need more info on the subs b/c some subs handle powerful amps differently.

rockford fosgate amps are by far one of the best
