i need to replace several window in my house. i'm looking at jen weld builders wood clad double hung windows. can anyone give me some feedback both positive and negative about these windows? or suggestions of other brands? i prefer a wood window over other materials at least in the interior. i don't object to wood for the interior and clad for the exterior. suggestions??? thank you!

Jeld Wen windows are Ok windows. Check and see if they have different quality levels available. I am SURE they will do the job for you. If you want a window that will easily last 15-20 years, they will be ok for that. The thing you should look for is a "low-E" glass. This will provide the best for cool in summer and warm in winter. Home Depot here in Canada sells Jeld-Wen windows.

We did a lot of research and ended up buying Jeld Wen windows from Home Depot. We got the wood, aluminum clad outside, not double hung, but casement. We've been very happy, and the independent installer who usually works with Pergo, said he thought these went in much easier. Price wise, very good, and stacked up very well with the competition.

I have jen weld french doors...there was a little piece of weatherstrip mising right at the bottom where the two doors come togehter, but i fixed that with some caulking...other than that, i guess they were ok....they were about double what a regular sliding door cost, but they look 1000% better
