I want to audition there for singing but don't know what they require for grades of how strenuous the audition process is.

It looks like a tough program to get into. Have you even reviewed their website?

Here are the audition requirements for Voice:

"The applicant must present three songs from the classical art song repertoire in at least two languages, including English.  The songs must be performed from memory, with refined tone quality and musical accuracy.  They may be chosen from the Italian, German, French, and English art song repertories.  Songs with guitar accompaniment, popular songs, or show tunes are not acceptable for auditions.

The auditioning faculty is not concerned with the number of years of voice study; rather, they are interested in vocal quality, potential, and musical background including music theory, piano, or some other instrument.  The School of Music only provides piano accompanists for voice auditions in Boston.  Applicants in voice auditioning at a regional audition site must provide an accompanist."

The class profile of entering freshmen is summarized here:

I auditioned for BU in 2001 (and then attended the school, earning a degree in voice performance). As things were back then....you performed your songs and did some sight reading as well. I would suggest that for any college auditions, pick songs/arias that you are 110% comfortable with, that you know inside and out, and could sing while standing on your head. That way, even with some nervousness you won't forget your words or anything like that. Also, brush up on some sightreading by looking at some new music and trying to sound out the melody without a piano and then test yourself. Best of luck! (Oh, and I wouldn't worry about your High School grades....at least when I was in the Undergrad program the most important thing was singing!)

I am not too sure, but I imagine that auditioning for any good college would be hard. Grades are just as important if not more important to a college than the performing arts, so don't focus just on you singing.you are going to be graded more on academics. Check out boston u's website for more info!

good luck!

i'm keen on Boston college because i'm from the area. i do not study about the cities in California besides the undeniable fact that the hot England section has a lot to furnish. in case you commute north very few hours you get large snowboarding contained in the White Mountains of NH, and West yet another hour and also you are able to flow to the beaches of Cape Cod.
