Baked cookies crumble, what should I do?

It doesn't matter how long they set after baking. When I pick it up, it just crumbles. What is the problem?

If they're home made, maybe one of the ingredients is out of date, or measured improperly (like eggs, butter, or oil). Let me tell you about the time I made a banana pudding and I doubled the recipe, except for the milk...
