I don't. By definition, atheism rejects all belief in deities. The root of the very word "atheist" itself tells us this. Atheism is the antithesis of religious faith; hence, atheism is not a religion. It is a philosophy.

I dont think atheism is a religion.

The whole point of Atheism is not following a religion.

So how can Atheism be a religion? If it was a religion, they wouldn't be Atheists.

They don't really know how NOT to think in terms of religion. (I don't mean that as an insult, it's just so ingrained in their beings that they can't grasp the concept. I felt the same way when I was a believer.)

If atheism is religion, "albino" is a suntan. ;)

Atheism is neither religion nor faith, but the happy freedom from them. Declaring it to be otherwise, sadly, will not make it so.

LOL

Actually, they are supposed to be part of no religion, because they don’t believe on any, but then, considering the meaning of “religion” it makes them be a religion…

Is funny now that I think of it.

I sort of think it's a religion except there isn't any main doctrines to it, nothing they all agree on except the one notion that there is no God, no organization of members. I don't think technically it is but spiritually I think it is a religion.

I look at the situation like a hole in something...is the hole actually something or the lack of it? Eventually, something does fill that hole...usually alot of air.
Someone will sit on the throne of your life: God/Jesus, Satan, or yourself. I believe most atheists pick the latter, their faith is in mankind and its achievements. They pride themselves in their tolerance and 'acceptance' of others.
Nevertheless, I think Jesus summed it up when He said (paraphrase), if your not for Me, your against Me. If you love this world, you hate Me. He also said that No one comes to the Father except through Me...faith is Jesus Christ - not people - is what saves you.
One last thought...the Bible also tells us to not fear man, for the only thing he can do is kill the body. Rather fear God who can send those without faith for eternity into the second death, i.e. the lake of fire and pits of darkness where those folks will be tormented day and night forever without any hope of escape or respite. I hope we all put Christ on the throne of our lives.

Because of the words that they have to use explaining their beliefs. Such as If, May be, Possibly. Those words bring it in to the realm of religion.
