The school mile is tomorrow, and I cannot run straight through it, I always get terrible cramps. It is tomorrow, so I cannot build up my endurance, and I stretch before I run.

Lots of water! Start now, but make sure you don't drink too much right before because then you will get a water-belly. Stretch tonight as well. And get a good night's rest, you'll need it.

1. This is going to sound funny, but the smell of banana really helps with cramps. Eating bananas also helps break down the lactic acid in your muscles, which also reduces the risk of cramps. Make sure you don't eat right before running.

2. Make sure you are well-hydrated. Drink water around the clock. Always carry a water bottle with you, but don't over-do it. If you eat foods with salt, you carry water for longer, which is not good for exercising or if you are trying to lose weight.

3. Stretch well. And do a warm-down. Do NOT sit down after running. All of the hormones are still running through your body, so you should walk a lap before you completely stop exercising.

This always happens to me when ever i run to. Most of the time i drink alot of water before the run but that gives you more cramps cause all the water is sloshing around in your body. So don't drink a ton of water before running. and stretching is good so keep that up

But if you get a cramp during the run then just slow down to a brisk jog collect yourself maybe stretch a tad if you can and then speed up graudually and pace your self you'll go faster if you pace your self.

You need to breath through your nose and out your mouth the whole time. Also make sure that you are not running too fast b/c that is when I get the cramps. Jogging is a lot better then running and you can go further without stopping. good luck!

First off, you do not really need endurance. But you do need to pace yourself. Do not use all your energy right away. It will tire out your muscles quickly and create cramps. Also, do not drink or eat right before you run, as the motion of you running will upset your stomach, creating worse cramps for you. But you should stretch before you run.
