first of all does he have a gf..?
does he talk to you? are you friends with him or do you just have a crush on him..? Because if you're friends with him then just say would you like to be my date to the prom...if you just have a crush on him and rarely talk to him then it will make it a lot more difficult. But just ask him anyways- you have nothing to lose and if he says no then you can always find someone else..

if you really feel that you want to go to prom with guy that you like then you should ask him tomorrow b4 he is taken and then you will have to find someone else

Don't be secret about it. Just go up to him and ask to prom. Don't be like all crazy and everything about it. Just go up to him and ask him calmly.
