Your hair will hold the curl, not necessarily as tightly as you might think, but it will hold quite a bit of curl. Your hair isn't too long to perm at all. In fact, it's a great length for a tight ringlet perm. Long enough to hang without looking like you have a poodle on your head, and short enough to have a lot of bounce.

Your hair will only get frizzy if you don't take care of it. Permed hair is a lot of work. You should only comb through it with a large-tooth comb and only when it's slightly damp. You'll have to put a lot of styling products in it.

I recommend a good brand of mousse for soft curls (but only if you don't play with your hair a lot; if you do, it will frizz). If you like to touch your hair throughout the day, you'll want to go for some good gel. Pomade will be great for taming it nearer your scalp when your hair is pulled up. And hairspray is good for everything!

If you've never had a perm before, do it at a salon. Once you've done it a few times at a salon, you'll learn how to do it yourself. However, it is very time-consuming!

Good luck with the perm! :-)

ok so 1st u hav 2 kno if ur hair is thick or thin, if its thin then u should b able to hold a perm with that long of hair, i was able 2. spiral curls might not b best though, try a wavy perm instead, that would probably look better, plus i found out the hard way that ur hair frizzes like ten times more with a spiral perm and long hair. hope i helped!!!

Yes, hair that is halfway down your back may be to heavy to hold a curl, the weight of your hair will pull the curl out. Why don't you just take about 6 inches off and get a spiral with that.

If your hair designer takes small enough sections, you shouldnt have any problems holding the curls. Use deep conditioning treatments after you are allowed to wash your hair and use matrix curl life to prevent frizz. You should be fine.

my friend has long hair, all one length and had a hot oil perm, it gave her the most gorgeous small ringlet type curls. tell your hairdresser exactly what you want, a good one will give you the right advice. good luck xx
