HijackThis: A general homepage hijackers detector and remover. Initially based on the article Hijacked!, but expanded with a lot of other checks against hijacker tricks. It is continually updated to detect and remove new hijacks. It does not target specific programs/URLs, just the methods used by hijackers to force you onto their sites.


HijackThis is not a tool to play around with. Use extreme caution when using it. You can not reverse the process once you delete something. If you delete the wrong thing you may not even be able to get on the internet to find a fix.

i have never known anyone to have a problem with it.

As far as I am aware it only pulls off what is already there

You can use AVG-AntiSpyware instead.
