the law in the UK is quite specific you commit a criminal offence if you are in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drink or drugs...in short it does not have to be moving at all just sitting in the drivers seat with keys in your possesion is enough

no not at all, as a matter of fact go out tonight get hammered, drive around for a while and when the cops throw you in the back of their car tell them you were just warming up for St. Pattys day.

DUI can sometimes be lowered to a misdemeanor with a good attorney. But DWI's are always a class A (murder while DWI) B or C felony. Hope that helps.

Yes it is. I have lost a daughter due to a drunk driver and she was only 2. The a$$ is still rotting in jail.
