In actual fact caught between the moon and new york city is another term for getting whacked in the trollies.
It came from the film Arthur which was loosely based around Arthur from Eastenders. Previous terms such as:
caught in the allottments
cracked in the cabbages
hit smack in the square
and fcuk off pauline you crazy bizznitch
all fell by the wayside when they didn't fit the lyrics for the theme tune (which dennis waterman didn't write or sing)

You'd be about 170,000 miles out in space (roughly half the distance to the moon) and gasping for air. I recommend staying in NYC.

Where you have been all of your life. Lost and looking for the maening of anything without hope of finding anything.
But look at the good side. If you don't know where you are going, and you surely don't, than any road will take you there.

Nowhere...because the best that you can do is fall in love. ...according to the Christopher Cross song "Arthur's Theme". I remember hearing that song on the radio when I was a kid. Haven't heard it in ages.
