I am currently going to a magnet school (high school) which has 300 students in it. It has some sports like tennis and soccer but in my sophomore year, i want to play football and my grades in my magnet school are a's, b'b and c's.
I have a hard biology class but i am deciding and this decision is very very hard.
Negatives and Positives

My Magnet school
+less students
+good chance of getting to college
+safe campus
+not very many fights
-Not alot of american sports, no baseball, football or basketball.
-The students have bad temper and get attitudes
- classes are very very hard and lots of homework

Regular school
+ all the sports i like
+ easier classes in which i can probably maintain a 4.0 average (my magnet school average is 3.1)
+ I heard not that many students there have attitudes and its in a safe county
- Drug sells
- lots of Bi people there
- large campus 1600 students
- too many asian kids

Don't assume that the regular school will have easier classes. If you take the honors level courses in a public school they will be just as hard or harder than the ones at your magnet school. If you don't go the honors route they may be easier. In the regular school I attended I was held to as high a standard as my cousins who went to a magnent school and I had to produce that level of work by firm deadlines when their deadlines were way more flexible.

When I got to college I held my own with kids from "the city" who attended not only magnet schools but private ones. My public, regular school education was just as good as theirs. Oh, and my guidance counselor helped me get better scholarships than most of them.

Look, by high school you're going to get out of any school what *you* put into it. I think either one would give you the education *you* want to get. But I think the regular school would add a ton of cultural experiences that you won't get at the magnent school. You'll have access to more sports like you want. You'll also have to learn to deal with poeple who think and believe in a lot of different ways. (Hey, there are going to be drug dealers and bi-sexuals and asians and everyone else out in the real world after all.)

The biggest problem with a large school like that is the chance that you'll get overlooked. It will be up to you to make sure that doesn't happen by excelling in class and in extra curicular activities. Remember, most of the prestigious colleges are now looking more closely at the non-academic areas of your application as a way to find a truly broad-based freshman class.

It sounds like the school you are presently at has a much higher academic level than the one you want to go to. I know that the lower academics really appeals to you, but you have to consider your future. What do you intend to do when you graduate? If you intend to go to college, you will be very grateful to go to a school that prepares you to do well.

Uh, you say that the school you want to go to is safe but you also mention drug sales. These two items do NOT coexist...

You also say that not many students at the other school have attitudes. THis is probably a bunch of baloney. Kids are the same everywhere.

In the long run sports are not going to matter a hill of beans to you, esp if you sacrifice your education to play sports. Plus, you don't know that you'd make the teams. Are there any community or church teams that you could play on with the sports you prefer?

Keep going to your magnet school, its good, but you shouldnt say stuff like that about bi people and asians. There's nothing wrong with them.

You should drop out the magnet school. It is for the best and the brightest and your comments about asians and Bi's shows you are a retard.
