How do you overcome shyness when around girls?

Question

Today, I hung out with this girl I like and she kept talking about some funny things and I laughed, but when she stopped talking there was this awkward silence that I know I should have said something to start a conversation, I just laughed at everything she said bcuz I didn't know what to say even though it was funny. Do girls really care about what a guy says? because she talks a lot and I like that because it takes some of the pressure off of me bcuz I'm really shy, even though I hate being shy bcuz I think girls don't like that, which probably explains why she dosen't like me more than a friend, bcuz I am shy so she probably thinks that if we did ever hang out/go out boyfriend/girlfriend, that I would be boring which I don't want her to think, so How can I overcome my shyness when I'm around this girl/girls in general??????? The next time I hang out with her I want to show her that I'm fun to hang out with, without being annoying but how do I overcome my shyness?

I kinda have the same F^%$ed up disease..Just stop caring what she thinks..and stop caring about how you percieve yourself...You'd be surprised at how differently other people will percieve you to be from how things are really goin.....For instance my story - I was always the same way - have a hard time continuing conversation..then I find out from other people that they get the impression that I'm some kinda hardass because I'd hardly say much..kinda messed up but do ya..follow?

girls sometimes care but as long as u dont like say something like that will freak her out and i think being shy is kute and just like thinkof her as like a good friend that ur not shy with an dlike alot of boys are shy i think it might be normal for most guys so like just try not to think about it so much

nigur just nod ur head and try to get into it .and say"oh my god that really happend" "yea me too" things like that
