Ok… so I met this girl (our waitress) at a restaurant a few days ago and I’m really interested in her. We only spoke for a few minutes, but we had a lot in common. (Something special in common mostly – both of our spouses died right after we got married.)
I’ve been back to see her once more since the night we first met. Her birthday is this Saturday and I want to get her something… but obviously it can’t be too “personal” since we’ve only talked a couple times. What do you think is a good gift idea????
Also, I asked her for her number the second time we talked at the restaurant and she said I couldn’t have it yet because she barely new me… Is that a bad sign, or do you think she was being honest. I’m guessing since she works as a waitress she gets a lot of guys asking for her number…

I would say you are still in the card stage. I would find a nice card - not a really sappy one - and give it to her. It will show you thought about her, and remembered her birthday. It is too soon for gifts - she may think you are psycho if you started doing that at this time lol.

Just get her something that she likes and about the phone thing its not a bad thing shes just not ready for another relationship and she was jsut being honest. Just stay with it and everything will work out.
