In other words,

Since religious adherents will not change their beliefs for anything - even blatant evidence,

is it safe to say that the reason they really really believe (some claim to know) is because of a psychological delusion?

It's called faith and we keep it regardless of how many try to talk us out of it.

I believe that your experience with Allah or Jesus is not psychological but it is in the heart now if religious adherents dont change beliefs even if there is blatant evidence than thats avoiding the truth. God gave us an intellect and a heart both are working together. Your mind is where the psychological portion is and it takes information and sends it to the heart now its up to the heart to reject it or accpet it. Now if it accpets it then the human being has an experience with that in which he or she holds which begins to manifest. So the experience of beliefs results in the hearts now the accepting or rejecting of it stands in the intellect which also works wih heart. As verses in the Quran say, "God Knows the secrets of the hears." so it is not only our brian that holds secrets but the heart as well making it an active engin with the intellect.

If there was scientific evidence for God, that would take away our free will, and God will not allow this.

Christians can tell that the spiritual world is not purely psychological because of the action vs reaction of prayer.

Often times, miracles as a result of prayer are so amazing, that you think God is showing off. (like the time I prayed for a new TV, and then received 3 awesome TVs randomly a month later from people I didn't know)

I would not be so brassy to call it a delusion. Why do you care to label them delusional because you disagree with there religous beliefs? That sounds a bit judgemental and intolerant to me in my most humble opinion. Are you feeling possesed today? Now see how ridiculous that sounded.

Haven't you heard the phrase do no harm to others?!

Have a nice day!

A lot of people go through life with out a clue of why things are the way they are, and most people have to look to a higher being to comfort them. I believe that there has to be something to decide what I do and what I dont. God, can mean "Good Orderly Direction"

Who's delusional. Certainly not me so it must be you. If you think you have evidence, provide it.

Call it whatever you wish.
Jesus will be here when you get ready.

Grace and peace to you.
