I've always chosen to refer to someone as Mr/Mrs not so much based upon age, but more so how close or not close you are to the person. In a professional situation, obviously your coworkers can be referred to by first name, but anybody that you are unfamiliar with in the company or who is above you, use Mr./Ms. unless and until they tell you to use their first name. As for customer, they should always be addressed by Mr/Ms, again, unless and until they correct you and ask you to use their first name. The use of Mr/Mrs is really more about respect than age.

If I'm the boss I'd call them Mr or Mrs their last name.
If my rank is the lowest Id still call them Mr or Mrss depending on how high the rank of the person is.
For the highest rank id like to use Sir than Mr. and Maam or Mrs depending.
Or if your new in the job, it's best to just go with what the others use to call them.

When I started working in my 20's (after college), I called my work associates by their first names. When meeting new people, I call them by their first names even if they are my parents age. I have always called my parents' friends Mr. John (first name) or Ms. Jane (first name). I think this is more of a Southern tradition. I tell my son's friends to call me Ms. Jane instead of Mrs. Doe. I usually reserve using Mr./Mrs. with a last name for someone I want to show my respect and acknowledgment of their high standing.

Yeah, usually about the same, because most of the time anyone younger doesnt like to be called so formally anyways, and Im not much for formal respect like that anyways - but some women will get annoyed if you call them mrs and theyre divorced or single so you're 'supposed' to call everyone ms unless you know.

By that age I usually called everyone by their first name. I still call my friend's parents Mr/Mrs out of respect. But when I meet people I just usually use their first name. Same thing at work too.

Get a feel for the authority they have over you. If it is a potential peer, first names are fine but if this person will have authority over you, Mr/Mrs/Ms works best as a sign of respect. If they prefer you to call them by their first name, they will let you know.

I really tought that after you get married that is it. Your Mr. or Mrs. I don't think it has to do with age. Before I got married I was refered by Miss but now I am Mrs. to every one.

I usually call people who are my parents age, people I first meet, bosses or superiors, or parents of friends Mr. and Mrs. until they tell me it is okay to call them by their first name and if that doesn't happen I keep calling them Mr. and Mrs.
