What if is there's a day when your friends told you to go with them 'cause they're planning to have a party, hang out somewhere, have a trip, do some crazy stuff, etc..... Just to have fun bonding with your mates!!!
But, your plan for that day was to go to your girl/boyfriend's house for just a little surprise visit..... And, have some conversations, good laughs, watch some DVD's, check out some old pictures, etc.... and maybe this could improve your relationship....
To whom will you go?? Friends or Loved one?? And why????

if was surpising something for someone else I could always postpone that & do that later :)

i would spend the day with my friends have a laugh shopping or have a trip somewhere then on the night i would go to my boyfriends surprise him and have smiles all around cos my friends wouldn't feel left out neither will my man

Go with your original plan. If the relationship means anything more than just Platonic to you, then you need to keep to your word. Your friends will be there if indeed they are true friends; and if by chance your partner is flexible. then you may want to ask if mixing with your friends is something he/or she would like to do later. if you had plans with your boy/girlfriend 1st you should do that but ask him/ her if they would be interested in going with your friends. why not?
