What thing or item did you stress about and put money into, and looking back now it wasn't worth spending the money on? I worry about spending to much money on a detail or thing that people will never notice. Would like your advice on things that are not worth doing because they area waste of money.

I haven't been married, but I've seen some overpriced weddings, so here goes:

Ice sculptures--can you think of a bigger waste?

Getting a limo to get you from the church to the reception. If you want to ride in a limo that bad, save it for the honeymoon when you'll actually be drunk and want to go somewhere.

Wedding favors--do you know where any of these are from any wedding you attended. This is a great place to be cheap.

Infinite open bar--give the people beer and wine, and they will be happy. Give them liquor and you have a mess.

Decorations can get overpriced, but you have to do something--just decide what you really need.

Not money, but time. Assigned seating at the reception. If you have a large wedding, this is pretty much required. I only had maybe 75 people there and it was really stupid. I should have just let everyone sit where they wanted. Heck, everyone knew each other anyway. I agonized over those stupid seats for weeks. We had a buffet dinner, so it wasn't like people had ordered a certain dinner.

Well....for my first wedding to my now ex husband....I would have to say the whole thing was a waste of money :). But to my wonderful second hubby, the only thing that I think was a waste of money was a second cake for the guest to eat.

Limo, too expensive of a dress..too many flowers........put the $$ on a bigger ring. The ring and the photos are really all you have left after the ceremony (besides the love of your life that is!).

There is really nothing we did I feel was a waste. One thing we did not do I wish we had was have a videographer. You do it once (hopefully) so do it right!
