i saw many people returned to God when they have problem as soon as it passed they forget him.

Because ppl are hypocrites. If they just ask themselves what has god ever done for me they would relize nothing. And would have no reason to look towards the false god again.

Just as Christians don't turn to the gods and goddesses of another faith, people who don't believe in the Christian God don't turn to Him when there is a problem. They turn to the people they know they can trust and count on.

That's very true....people call out to God because they think they have no were else to turn. When they are on a strait non bumpy road, it's easy to forget God is the one who helped them get there. Having a relationship with Him is what makes all the difference in the world.

I've been an atheist for 43 years now. I've been through more combat than I care to remember. I've had open heart surgery. I've lost people I've loved. I've been at wits end many, many times. But I've never turned to god. God is imaginary.

Obviously, your argument is that the God-idea is a crutch for the morally weak. And you won't hear me disagree with you on that!

Annoying isnt it? When 9-11 happened it was all about "God". Then it passed, and the signs came down.
When people need him, they beg, but when things are going well, they leave him.
Those people are not true christians, and dont have a real relationship with God.

they finally got it to go to God in the time of need and rejoice he not only your heavenly father but he is you friend and does listens and there as shoulder to cry on and does, answers prayers they maybe not the way they should be but what is in his plan for your life like when my mother died when she was only 48 and i was 18 going on nineteen she was the only person in my life i could de pend on then God gave me a good shaking told me this was all in her plan in her life.

why, because they said "thank god" or some other such nonsense? that is a colloquial phrase. it is uttered like "oh crap", etc.
it doesn't meant that they actually beleive in god, it is just a common phrase/expression that people use "off the cuff"
the other day, someone cut me off in traffic, i uttered "jesus christ, you moron!!" it doesn't mean i believe in jesus (I don't) it just means i uttered a common curse/exclamation when somone did something stupid.
but if you are saying people believe in god when they are weak, well, yeah, i'll agree with that.

what's even more strange are the Atheists who claim God is the reason for all the bad things that happen but deny His existence... Some people are just funny that way
