Well they both equally are bad because flushing wastes millions of gallons of water and the more stuff you throw in trash, the longer these things will take to degrade. So whatever you do just try not to use to much toilet paper.

Some countried like Puerto Rico, you can not flush your paper because the sewer system is good, they use bidets and throw out all toliet paper. Environmentally... I don't think it matters.

Flush. It's degradable. The water in the toilet and the bacteria break it down a lot faster in the toilet/septic tank than it would if you just threw it out in the garbage.

I agree with J-Bird. Throwing toilet paper in the trashcan is just filthy and a sure-fire way of spreading some awful disease. Which is better for the environment? And now that you've asked this question, I'm sure you will regret it. .... Eww...... Stick with flushing or try the 3 seashells..... Thanks.

Tis better for your home environment if you flush. I mean really...who wants to walk into your house and smell old, dried up, bateria-filled doo-doo. What if you had the runs....I'm talking explosive diarrhea. ..just plain nasty...filthy even to leave the evidence out in the open. The trash can is definitely not the place to "display" your excretions. To answer your question...flush that nasty shite!

You should flush tolet paper bacause it breaks up when flushed. Besides, if you throw it in the garbage, the toilet paper will pile up and there would be more garbage.
