a shot of whiskey in honey and hot water helps
to warm your lungs so the phlem starts to get
soft it is not the way to cure the cold though
rest,lots of fluids and chicken noodle soup helps

No, nothing cures the common cold. It can make you feel better, though. It's not for nothing that cough formulas almost all contain alcohol.

well not really BUT if you mix whiskey, lemon and honey you can make kind of a cough med and it does help. If you think about it all cough meds have alocohal in them, just don't get carried away

Sorry, Skeeter, but no. It makes your cold symptoms temporarily go away--but when you wake up, they are back--and often worse.
Did you know that because people drink when they're sick (many to excess) that there is a disease called Alcoholic Pneumonia. This usually happens to people who don't take care of themselves when sick--but just drink to make the symptoms go away.

I'm a big fan of the liquor cure myself....
I prefer a shot or two of Goldschlager in the evening (as opposed to Nyquil).
