Well, you must realize it isn't about religion as much as a "clan mentality"....basically gang banging on a larger scale.
If we pull out we "lose"...if we stay we lose more lives. I see no real solution

1. We'd like a government at the end that's reasonably friendly to our interests.
2. Didn't (doesn't?) your mother make you clean up your own mess? Since we got rid of the previous government, we have some obligation to support the present one. You seem to be thinking of this as our 4-year war, but it's only a one-year-old government. And it isn't at all clear to me that US troops are doing more harm than good. A lot of people are thinking of it as a civil war, and if that's the case, then a US presence must be a stabilizing force. It seems a lot of people want to argue both sides of the point simply to be against the administration's policies, but that's too cute by half.

1.) Not only do we have Sunni, Shia, and other Islamic faiths in America, we also have Christians, Buddists, and hundreds of others. Somehow we manage to live in peace. Religious differences can be gotten over, no matter how old.
2.) When we left Vietnam, tens of millions were murdered in that country and the surrounding countries.
3.) When we failed to help Afghanistan after the Russians left, it ignited a civil war and resulted in the Taliban. This caused the deaths of millions in the region, not to mention ~3000 Americans on 9/11.
4.) When we left Saddam in power in 1991 after the Gulf War and pulled out troops out, it resulted in the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.
5.) When we quit fighting the Korean War, we left millions under the despotism of North Korea. This resulted in the murder of thousands and almost 60 years (and counting) of an entire nation enslaved.
There are countless examples in history of what will happen if we pull our troops out before we are done. It will result in millions dead in the region, and most likely many more Americans in the future. Leaving now is the worst idea. Pick up a history book, or at least watch the History channel. Educate yourself.

How is it that folk get on right here and hold forth approximately Iraq, yet be responsive to little or no approximately what's certainly occurring. If the conflict in Iraq replaced into somewhat purely Iraqi's scuffling with Iraqi's i might in all probability agree consisting of your question, in spite of if it somewhat is not. The Islamic jihad has chosen Iraq to be the area, for now, to entice a line interior the sand. this could be a place the place they are able to confront the infidel, the human beings who furnish aide and convenience to their different worst enemy, Israel. presently, Iranian advisors have been captured in Iraq. those are human beings sent in by using Ahmadinejad of Iran to propose the Sunni's who combat human beings, alongside with their insurgents from different center jap countries, on the thank you to terrific wrestle the yank efforts to stabilize Iraq. This conflict is hardly ever purely an inner Iraqi conflict, The Islamic jihad has declared a conflict against the infidel, it somewhat is us. Now, the question is, does the rustic of sheep (the U. S.) prefer the conflict on Arab turf or US turf, simply by fact in case you prefer the troops to return living house, shop ranting your collective rhetoric in stay overall performance with Reid, Durbin Obama, Pelosi and something of the liberal scum that slide in under the door, simply by fact it somewhat is a given, we can see yet another 9/11 on our turf, employing their prepare of liberal theory.

The war is not about there own religious squabbles. It goes very deep and is complex. One must also remember that it took America from 1776-1789 (13 years) to come up with a constitution that 9 out of the 13 states would ratify. Peace, prosperity and a new country do not happen over night.
As a soldier, my issue with pulling out now is we need to finish rebuilding the country, which is an obligation under the laws of war. We also would disrepect the deaths of all servicemembers by leaving without finishing, making their deaths in vain.
The fighting of US Soldiers there is directed at us being Americans. These extremists that are causing the fighting are Islamist Fundamentalists that do not even represent all of Islam, but have a vendetta against the Greater Satan (America) and wish us all exterminated, whether they battle us in the Middle East or at home in America, they will not rest until the last resident of the United States and all of its territories are no longer alive. At that time they will turn on Isreal, followed by all of Europe and then within their own ranks.
Until Americans fully realize this, they will unwittingly continue to support the extermination of their own kind, believing they are doing the right thing for the troops and America. A similar disinformation campaign was waged in America by Germany at the onset of World War I. The Secret Service picked up a briefcase owned by a known couterfeiter and espionage agent that contained all of the plans, including the extent of purchasing radi stations, newspaper and magazine publishing companies, to bash the war and the American stance into leaving Germany alone. Included in the briefcase were plans to land troops in New Jersey and place a blockade on New York City once America stepped back and left Germany alone.
We, as a nation, must do our own research and develop the truth of what is going on in the world, not relying solely on Michael Moore, .org websites and slanted news media.

They are not there to solve the Iraqis problem. They are there to solve ours in that if we had not stomped around like a blind elephant that just got bit by a small ant we would probably have destroyed our own country out of the need to let off all that steam.
And yes when it gets to the point where all we seem to hear about is our military destroying innocents etc. it is time to reconsider where your real motive lies.
And let any small ant reconsider next time it thinks taking a bite out of a huge elephant who is stepping on it.

Well, it's like putting out mouse traps to catch an over abundance of mice but when you don't see any more mice, you take the traps away. Mice hide and aren't usually see and they breed every 28 days (I've owned pet rats). Just when you think you've won, they come back and worse than before.
Leave it up to the liberals to suggest we pull our troops out and leave a job halfass done.

I am a dem and I want to see our troops home as soon as possible,,However, if we just up and pull out now, it won't be two weeks later that the Iran leadership will be sitting in Bagdad and they will kill everyone who was involved in freeing Iraq. It's a no win situation. And yes, these people have been fighting over religion for years and years. Saddam used the threat of execution to quill any uprisings. Thus they did not fight as they are doing now.

Because 12 million Iraqi people voted to install the current government BELIEVING that their vote would mean the allies would remain there and help them give life to this new democracy. They believed it because we told them we would be there to help them.
And, Iraq's civil war is not about religious differences... it's about using religion to manipulate others and gain power.

Because a good proportion of the enemy we are fighting over there are not fighting us for the Iraqis. They are fighting us as part of their global jihad to force their cult of death on the world and eliminate our culture. They will not stop their fight when we are gone. They will simply see it as a victory in their quest to impose islam on all. They will believe America has no will to complete the job. You will then see more 9-11s in an effort to push us completely within our own borders, leaving the rest of the west easy pickins. First will be the rest of the mid-east governments who are friendly with us. That will give them the ability to cripple our economy. Like it or not, we need oil. it is the engine of our economy. When they have weakened the west even further with curbs in oil production and extreme prices, they will begin to take Europe. They want Spain first, believing it is theirs by rights. Then France and GB, by the slow invasion of immigration and reproductive math - yes, they are out-breeding us.
The world is going to look much different in 50 years. Do you want a world that looks like America, or a world that looks like Iran? It's your choice.

The whole reason why this whole thing is blowing in our faces is because we walked out the first time. It not just about religion. It's also a mistrust of America. And so they leave and then what? Those who died, will they end up dying for nothing. And whose to say that we won't invite trouble on our soil? If we had done this right to begin with, we wouldn't be in this mess. Something good has to happen so that when my friends in the military look back on this , they won't say that it was a complete waste of time
