Bhavan means Building, Bharatia Vidya Bhavan is an educational Institute;
Kshetra means area. Kuru or Kauravs were decendents of Dhritrashtra, a blind king of Hastinapur, a well known character in Mahabharat, they fought a battle with Pandavas, decendents of Pandu, brother of Dhritrashtra and the place where this battle was fought is known as Kurukshetra.

Bhavan is a "Building".
Kshetra is a "Field"
Kuru is the name of the clan of the Kauravs and Pandavas.

Bhavan = a building, or a construction made for some specific work i.e.-Vidya bhavan, krida bhavan= play room,nrutyabhavan=dance room etc.
kshetra= field, it is sanskrit word for "khet" in hindi and "shet" in Marathi,
note that it also is used for the specific field like "Homi Bhabha did the marvelous work in the field of science= ",Vigyan kshetra, Natya kshetra= field of drama, Sahitya kshetra=field of literature .
