There is this belief that after death, our soul either goes to heaven or hell. Everyone has their own definition of heaven and hell, so everyone’s opinion differs. But, I question myself if there is such a thing as heaven or hell, because, when we are still alive, the way we are living our life, for a lot of people it could be heavenly or it could be as worse as hell. So, in your opinion, what do you think? Is there such a thing as heaven or hell or there is a scientific reason for everything that occurs in this world. And what really in your opinion happens after death? Do you believe in reincarnation or that even after we die, our soul lives. Is there a higher power that really controls the universe?

I don’t want to know what your religion taught you, I want to know what you as an individual think?

You rot.

There is no soul, Heaven, Hell, or afterlife. You didn't exist before you were born, and you won't exist after you die.

This life is what you make of it. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it's the only one you get.

I have pondered this question and done a lot of studying on nde's (near death experiences), also did hospice volunteer work, if anything I was convinced after seeing people before death have visions, (I do not one moment believe they were hallucinations of angels, or other deceased friends or family come to get them. I believe that if we do not turn our will and our lives over to the higher power (God, Buddah, Allah, whatever someone choses to call him) and you fight that all your life and live in your will which is the opposite of your life goal, you will live in suffering and agony on earth. I do believe hell is here too but it is all in our choices that we remain there. I cannot imagine my life with the hope I have today without my higher power whom I call God. And I believe that God is like the angels, (both male and female), that is why is level of compassion is so immense. Also, the only time I believe personally that reincarnation happens is when we do not fulfill our mission on earth, it is cut short through suicide, or other events that were not part of the plan, you still have to fulfill your mission on earth but depending on the sitiuation of your death your circumstances are different. Your life purpose, your cause and end can be just one lesson you live your whole life for and you bring it back to whence you came and you are better for it or 'the light' (us) is. All you have to do is think for five minutes (if that) about the scientific approach and you will have your answer. I think you are on a precipice of great growth.

I think the answer lies as such: there IS a heaven but it's not just for one religion. It's for those who truly believe in SOMETHING and try to make the world a better place. Hell, if it exists, is probably planet earth. I think a part of us comes back every time until we get it right, that this time we spend on earth is a test to make us smarter souls for the greater plan ahead. And for the record, I'm a former southern baptist turned agnostic. I still believe in God, but not this whole selfish religious selfish crap that has flooded us lately. You should find and watch the movie called "Dogma". For as much as it's supposed to be - and IS - a comedy, I think it has a lot of the basics right. I think it's more important that we have a 'good idea' than a set 'belief' as beliefs are harder to change as we grow as a good idea is. And what if God IS a woman? MUWAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! (BTW, Alanis Morisette is killer for her silent end-of-movie scene as God!)

We do not die. There is no death, only life, and life is much more than we see here in this physical system. This does not mean that we can't see it, just that we choose not to.

What happens at "death" is that you come to realize that you still exist, and that you can be "anywhere", just by thinking it. You are free, you are infinitely creative, and more alive than you were in "life". You can spend a century as a redwood, (there is no time), or explore the beautiful nature of your reality. There are no limits. You in truth can do no harm, and no true harm can come to you, though you might form some scary images before you get a "handle" on your abilities.

I am not religious. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. God tells me that I am forgiven for all of the sins that I have committed and promised eternal life because I have repented and accepted His only begotten Son, Jesus as my Lord and Savior.

I have never been to Heaven or Hell. Therefore, I cannot describe either one to you. I do believe that both of them exist.

I have read some accounts of people who claim to have experienced physical death and then returned to life. They all pretty much say the same thing.

One of these books is called "Beyond Death's Door", by Maurice Rawlings. In this book, an agnostic Cardiologist tells of resuscitating several patients. The first one that he resuscitates, speaks of Hell and that he went there.

OK. Either Something happens or Nothing happens. I am a Christian and am not afraid of nothing happening. That is a win for me. I believe in Heaven. That is a win for me to.

It is hell that worries me.

We are told that once we die, we are judged and on that day every little thing, every aimless thought will be called into questions. You will be standing in front of the great judgement seat of Christ, in front of a Just and Holy God. There will be no hiding, no excuse, no hope except that of having made a covenant with God by believing in his Son, confessing your sins and being baptized. Short of that, there is no hope at all.

The worst of all possible delusions is that WE can get "past" a just and Holy God on the basis of our own works.

All I know is that there is something peculiar about us humans as I have seen in myself. Why can't I stop thinking about strange eternal thing when I don't even want to? I'd rather just party and have fun and not worry. Why do I keep going back to this even though I am not even afraid of death? It's like some kind of drive. I think they call it the "Moral Law" working in us.

Perhaps there is something immortal in us after all?

I evaluate myself agnostic andi determine that the technique of dying could be frightening or painful, yet actual being ineffective isn't so undesirable. I determine that we the two, a million return to the source (all understanding and endless) or are unaware of our existance or having existed so it particularly is no longer so undesirable. i've got been unconsious a 2 situations, i had no concept of what replaced into occurring till i got here to. So worst case scenario, being ineffective is like being subconscious, u have not have been given any concept of something whether it particularly is okay because of the fact u don't be attentive to that u don't be attentive to something. if it is sensible.
